Leddy, Laura and I had a day off while we waited for Gerry and Ashley to come in from Amqui.
I got up early and did the laundry (exciting, eh?) and then we tripped around town doing chores, updating the blog, etc.
Later on in the afternoon I went back into Quebec to visit the Battle of Restigouche Historic site. The Battle of Restigouche (1760) was the last naval clash between the British and the French before the fall of Montreal in September, 1760. The French scuttled their main warship (Le Machault) at the end of the battle. Recently, there has been extensive archaeological work, including raising parts of Le Machault, so I had a look at parts of a 250 year old vessel. I found it very interesting.
Gerry and Ashley had a good run in from Amqui, so we are travelling together again.
We expect to spend 5 days in New Brunswick, travelling around the Acadian Penninsula before crossing the Confederation Bridge. I'll add the map of the Atlantic portion of our trip as soon as I get near a computer that will let me add the map.
