Tracidie to Mirimachi - 85 km.

Finally! A day without headwinds and no rain (cloudy all day). A combination of a short day (85 km is short, you know), easy riding and no rain/wind increased our speed 10% or so.

Lots of interesting names in this part of the world - Tabusintac, Neguac, Bartibog, Burnt Church, etc. Most of these are just wide spots in the road, with not much in infrastructure. This area is full of working type homes, not vacation and tourist spots as Quebec. This difference is probably what I was referring to in my earlier post, when I said I couldn't put my finger on the change.

We had a great chat with some ladies during our Timmy's morning stop. One of them had a very 'eastern' accent - the first one we've really noticed (there were more of thes great accents later in the day.

The road was generally good, with (usually) adequate shoulders. We got a potential scare from one overloaded flatbed (trusses hanging out the sides) but he slowed right down and waited before passing Leddy. Thanks to him.

Mirimachi is another working town, with horrible streets for cycling. Their mill shut down last year, so many of their men are out west, according to our waitress at dinner.
