August 7 - Val Brilliant to Campbellton, N.B - 119 km.

I forgot to mention - Ashley and Gerry are a day behind us, because they've chosen to take 3 days to cross to NB instead of our two.

We woke up to a partly foggy morning (lake fog) and had a great breakfast in the B&B again. This B&B is a renovated hotel - Shirley and Sylvain bought it two years ago and has completely renovated it. Nice job.

Nice weather again, with little or no headwinds. A long day, but not too difficult. There aren't too many hills and they are generally not steep, so the progress is good. The shoulders on the road are generally good for bicycling.

Later in the afternoon we reached Matapedia, where we get our first glimpse of New Brunswick and the Restigouche River. We travelled down the river for another 20 km, crossed the bridge at Point-a-la-Croix and into New Brunswick. We'll spend a day here, relaxing as Ashley and Gerry catch up to us.
The photos are of a covered bridge in Amqui and a view of the Restigouche River - Quebec on the left & NB on the right.

So good to see blue sky in your pictures from the last few days! Sounds like absolutely appalling weather you have endured the last two weeks or so. Looking forward to seeing you in PEI!

We didn't win the $43 million, so it doesn't look like we'll be joining you for the rest of the trip.
